Cassandra Sánchez Navarro, Erick Chapa, Eileen Yáñez, Lincoln Palomeque, Verónica Bravo and Catherine Siachoque Star in the ViX Original Series
ViX, the leading Spanish-language streaming service in the world, announced today that its new comedy CONSUELO will premiere on April 19 and unveiled the trailer and official key art. The ten episodes will be available all at once on premiere day exclusively on the service's premium tier. In addition, the first episode will be available to sample on ViX's free plan.
The new original comedy stars Cassandra Sánchez Navarro ("El juego de las llaves S3," “La Hora Marcada,” Todas menos tu”), Erick Chapa ("El doctor del pueblo,” "El Rey, Vicente Fernández"), Eileen Yáñez ("Luna negra,” "Nudo mixteco"), Lincoln Palomeque ("La Reina del sur,” "Flow calle"), Verónica Bravo ("Sobreviviendo mis XV,” "Cuando sea joven") y Catherine Siachoque ("Mujeres Asesinas,” "Oscuro deseo").
Set in Mexico City in the 1950s, the series masterfully combines drama and comedy through the character of a woman from Mexican high society who, after being abandoned by her husband, must manage to survive while taking control of her destiny and her pleasures, including the sale of sex toys. CONSUELO combines the conflicts of classic melodrama with the self-confidence of modern comedy to deal with current issues, magnified by the historical and moral context of the time, just before the beginning of the Sexual Revolution, making the series a unique blend of relevance, irreverence and entertainment.
CONSUELO was created by Juan Carlos Aparicio Schlesinger and Mateo Stivelberg, with Catalina Figueroa as producer, Catalina Porto as executive producer and Kenya Márquez as director of the series.
CONSUELO is produced by THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO. The series also features Sofía Monarrez, Camila Nuñez, Alexander Ventosa, Essined Aponte, Paula Barreto, Yuri Vargas, Ana Celeste Montalvo and Mario Ruiz.
ViX offers more than 75,000 hours of on-demand content and an average of 80 streaming channels, all in Spanish.
